24 in 24 - what's it all about?
Samanddance limited in association with our country music festival Towerfest are working with the Laura Crane Cancer Trust to raise a staggering £24,000 in 24 hrs.
The event takes place at Drax Sports And Social Club in Selby, North Yorkshire on the 17/18th April. 6.00pm on the Friday until 6.00pm on the Saturday non stop.
Everyone involved is giving their time free for the charity and bands and country performers are coming in from all over the country to make this a success. Line dancers will come and go throughout the event as much as they like and may even bring their caravans to stay on the festival field free of charge. Dancer and listeners will pay to attend a one of fee of £5.00 and attempt to raise as much sponsorship from friends and family as is humanly possible.
We will however be working with businesses to sponsor the event and our aim is 100 businesses at £240. For this they will get simply their name and logo on an A1 sign at the back of the stage with the hope that the strong media attention may get a glimpse.

Cancer is the commonest cause of non-accidental death in teenagers and young adults in the UK. The Laura Crane Trust is a youth cancer charity committed to increasing understanding, improving treatment methods and ultimately preventing cancers in the age group 13-24. The feelings of loneliness and isolation are words used too often when speaking with young cancer patients. To help lessen these feelings the Laura Crane Trust’s latest project ‘CHATWORLD’ breaking down the walls of silence is a chat room with an amazing difference! 24 in 24 will help break down these walls of silence and make ChatWorld a reality for young cancer patients throughout the UK.
